Kitchen, chair and sofa go strong in the Italian export

According to a report on exports elaborated every year by Milano Chamber of Commerce – Promos agency, furniture, lightening, jewellery, porcelain, ceramic and glass are sectors distinguishing the Italian design. Last survey showed a substantial stability in these sectors exportations, attesting a turnover of 20,5 billion euros.

Among the most profitable category, kitchen furniture with its 754 billion euros lead the rank, having grown by 10,1% last year. Top markets for Italian kitchens are France (17,9%), USA (15%) and Switzerland (7,6%) and increasingly – compared to 2015- India (+37,3%), Malta (+17,3 %) and China (+16,8%).

Besides, exportations of chairs and seats (1 billion of euro, +3,4%), armchairs and sofas (1,4 billion of euros, + 4,5%) are very relevant. With their considerable performances, they attract Asian fast developing markets: UAE (+49,1%), China (+33,9%), Hong Kong (+26,8%).
